James Deane
James Deane probably doesn't need much of an introduction. Quite simply, he's the best drifter in the World right now!
James Deane is a regular visitor to Mondello Park where our office and Sim Centre is based. So whether he's testing a new car, visiting our next door neighbors in the Drift Games office or taking part in an event, we bump into him quite regularly. A lot more regularly, it seems, since we installed a bunch of drift sims in the office!
The Competitive Edge
James started competitive drifting at the age of 15, and won his first competition at this age in 2007. From this point onward he committed fully to the sport and has since won pretty much every drift event going.
Despite being 3-time world champion, James felt there was a competitive edge to be gained by staying sharp in between events by using a simulator. Following a number discussions about components and specs, Digital Motorsport were asked to build a drift simulator to replicate James's BMW Eurofighter.
We took detailed measurements of the Eurofighter, borrowed the actual Corbeau seat and NRG wheel and took feedback from James in order to build an accurate recreation of the seating position and feel of his BMW, which he tested for the first time at the Autosport show in January 2020 - Check out the video below!
