Fanatec DD2 Settings For Assetto Corsa & iRacing
Getting a decent baseline setup in terms of your wheel settings is critical to your overall performance but also your enjoyment of the sim. There are set ups out there that allow driver's to be extremely quick but have no correlation to how the real car would actually feel, for us, that's not something we're interested in.
This setup for Fanatec's popular DD2 wheelbase is one i've used personally for the last 6 months and have found it to be very good in Assetto Corsa and pretty decent in iRacing for circuit racing in most types of car, be they single seater or GT. This setup uses the free Fanalabs software and the Force Feedback clipping app for Assetto Corsa in conjunction with each other.
**Important: One of the cool features of this setup is that it will learn as you drive. So, don't be freaked out if initially the steering is incredibly heavy or light. by the end of the first lap it should have figured out where it should be. Adjust the Torque target to your preference after a lap if it's still too heavy or light.**
Required Software:
Firmware. Make sure you have the latest Fanatec drivers and firmware installed.
Fanalabs. Download and install the latest version of Fanalabs. At the time of writing this is version 1.23 Beta: https://forum.fanatec.com/discussion/1423/fanalab-1-23-beta-download-post-your-feedback-here
but check here for any updates: https://forum.fanatec.com/categories/fanalab
FFB Clipping App. This setup only works in conjunction with the Force Feedback Clipping app which you can download from Racedepartment here: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/ffbclip-app.7910/
install this to Assetto Corsa and open the app from the right hand menu in game.
The Setup:
Copy the settings from the screenshots below. Only the settings from the tuning menu and the dynamic ffb menu are required.

**These settings will override your existing preset wheelbase settings. For example we have preset 1 selected. The fanalabs settings override/update whatever you had in preset 1 in your wheelbase, so select a preset you don't use if you don't want to override any existing settings**
FFB Clipping App Settings. Once you have the Fanalab settings updated head into Assetto Corsa and open up the FFB Clipping App from the in game menu on the right hand side and copy the settings below.
A torque target of somewhere between 11 and 13 usually feels right for most cars.

As with all things sim related these settings are subjective and what we feel works for us may not feel right for you. However they have been used to great success to win a number of the Digital Motorsports Championships so we're pretty confident they're on the money!
