Mondello Park today announced Digital Motorsports as the title sponsor for the inaugural Irish Championship Circuit Racing (ICCR) season. The three year deal will see the series named as the “Digital Motorsports ICCR”, with the opening race meeting scheduled for June 12/13 at the Kildare venue.

With just over two weeks to run until the opening race meeting, there is an air of anticipation in motor racing circles and pre season test days have been busy, with new and experienced drivers alike preparing for what could be one of the best seasons in a number of years. Amongst the many shared initiatives in the new partnership is Digital Motorsports becoming the official simulator partner in the soon to be announced Junior Driver Development programme.

ICCR (Irish Championship Circuit Racing) is a new for 2021 organisation for Irish circuit racing. The Mondello Park Sports Club have come to agreement with Motorsport Ireland to take over the running and promotion of the discipline for an initial five year period. This brings not only consistency to the sport, but also increased promotion for classes and drivers going forward. The ICCR website and social media channels will be a one stop shop for anyone interested in the sport. Information on each class and event is now freely available, as well as links and information about how to apply for a race licence and go racing, and also information on how to become a volunteer or official as well as an application form to get involved.
