Rules and Regulations

1. Entries

1.1. All entries will need to submit their registration via Google Form provided.

1.2. All entries are required to have the minimum equipment needed to compete, wheel, pedals etc. and a copy of Assetto Corsa with supporting required mods.

1.3. Signups will open on 22/01/2020. See for the signup form.

1.5 No new signups will be accepted after the championship has been completed 40%.


2. Car

2.1 The car used will be the Shaun Clarke mod Radical SR3.

2.2 The setup will be fixed for the grid and locked on the server.

3. Championship

3.1.All drivers who start a race must cover at least 60% of the leader's driven distance to be classified as official results.

3.2.Points will be awarded by finishing position after official results as listed below.

3.3. A bonus point is available to the fastest qualifier.

3.4 The championship will have 5 rounds.

3.5. All rounds carry points, there will be no dropped scores.

4. Race Event

4.1.All events will consist of:


Live server all week for practice.

15 minutes qualifying.

This series has a timed race distance. The race will end on the lap after the allocated 30 minutes time frame has passed.

4.2. The series administration may restrict any driver to take the start if they’re deemed to be a potential danger to other cars on-track during the race.

4.3. Drivers should be on Discord at least 5 minutes before drivers briefing at 7.55pm. If briefing is missed the driver concerned will not race.

5. Start Procedure

5.1. This series will use standing starts. False starts are penalised heavily by being returned to pits automatically.


6. Driver Etiquette

6.1. Drivers are not allowed to move off their line under braking to respond to any move unless there is an accident ahead and need to take avoiding action. Drivers moving to cover off the inside in the braking zone with eventual contact will be considered to be blocking and will be penalised. Race and let race, it will be more fun for all.

6.2. The leading car may make one move to the defensive line, as long as that move does not create an incident. This move must also be made before the trailing car starts their move for a pass.

6.3. Drivers will be allowed to race hard against each other. But etiquette needs to be top class. Incidents due to contact may still bare responsibility on any driver and result in penalties.

6.4  Patience is a virtue - In real life racing it take guts to keep the foot down, in virtual racing it takes guts to lift!

6.5 Race starts can be chaotic. Remember the old saying: races are not won on lap 1 but they are often lost there.

6.6 When you spin, please remember to lock the brakes. It makes your trajectory much more predictable. Just sit still and let other drivers worry about avoiding you. Contact due to poor re-joining of the track will have serious penalties.

6.7 No Divebombs. Generally speaking, if you are not alongside another car at corner turn in you should not attempt to pass; the other car has the right to the racing line and will be closing towards the apex. Dive bombing and poor overtaking attempts that end in a crash are going to be penalized.

As shown left - In this case, the attacker’s front axle is ahead of the defender’s rear axle and the two cars are approximately halfway alongside. Both drivers have a reasonable claim to the apex. If contact occurs, blame will have to be shared. It is in this zone that racing incidents can occur. Incident that are sent in regarding this scenario will require video evidence and images.






6.8. Never rejoin the track perpendicular to the racing line.

If you spin out manoeuvre off track, make sure there are no oncoming cars using real time and car radar.

6.9. A yellow flag is a warning, you need to slow down and prepare to stop should the track be blocked. Passing is forbidden when yellow flags are present. Be cautious and you will be able to avoid accidents.

6.10. When lapped be considerate and let the leaders through as soon as it is safe to do so. Drive your race, by all means, but if you can help the leaders please do so. Most importantly, always be predictable and make your intentions clear.

6.11. An acceptable ping is a requirement. Race control reserve the right to remove drivers whose ping will make them a hazard on track.

6.12. Every driver is expected to behave in a manner that is respectful and representative of the series, your fellow competitors, sponsors, etc. Any breach of the behaviour clause will represent immediate expulsion from this series.

6.13. Regardless of any scenario, comments, discussion, or other unforeseeable, we encourage everyone involved to keep the fun factor. This is a hobby at the end of the day.

6.14. The series reserves the right to terminate inclusion of any entry in this, or any future series determined by administration.

7. Race Control

7.1. Any appeal or post incident report must be submitted within 24hrs of the end of the race by emailing

8. Race Penalties

8.1. Race control may impose any penalties including but not limited to the following


Post Race time Penalty (Amount to be determined by Race Control)  

Points Deduction (Amount to be determined by Race Control)  


Exclusion from any event.

8.2. Any driver deemed to have used an off-track advantage in the process of a pass will be penalised.

8.3. All drivers must have Race Control audio channel open, also needs to be able to monitor text chat for messages from Race Control during the race.


9. Post-Race Protest and Appeals

9.1. Protests must be filed within 24hrs of the end of the race event. The admin group will review and make a determination. Official results will be posted no earlier than 48hrs from the conclusion of the event.

9.2 If a driver is handed a race penalty, they may appeal the decision. If the appeal is unsuccessful, the driver risks receiving a larger penalty.

10. Series License

10.1. Each driver will have a series license that will be tracked over their course of the season. The license begins with a 10 penalty points limit.

10.2. At the steward’s discretion, upon review of incidents during a race session, penalty points may be added to a driver’s license for infractions of the rules laid out within this document.

10.3. Any driver, through the accrual of penalty point penalties that is required to serve greater than one (1) race suspension over the course of a single season will be excluded for the remainder of the season.

10.4. Drivers penalty points will be published alongside the championship standings.

10.5. Points will be deducted at the discretion of Race Control for any infraction.

10.6. As a guide, minor continuous unintentional contact or off-tracks may result in 2 points. But anything deemed intentional may be awarded 4 points or more at the discretion of the stewards.

11. Paint Policy

11.1. Custom paints will not be accepted for this championship.

12.  Enjoy it!

12.1.This is the most important rule! We want everyone to enjoy racing with us on the VRA servers. The house rules are here in black and white so everyone can see what we expect from drivers both new and old.

        Joining The Server

        • ​In Assetto Corsa or Assetto Corsa Content Manager: search for VRA 
        • Pre Qualifying Server Password: vra1234
        • Fixed car setup (if applicable) will automatically load when you join the server

        Race Format:

        • Pre-Qualifying - The Virtual Race Academy Servers are live all week, 24/7 for you to practice on. The practice session also acts as pre-qualifying, with the fastest 20 registered teams (Either drivers time) with valid going through to qualifying. Pre-qualifying closes at 7pm on race day. The fastest 20 registered teams ( fastest time from either driver) will be emailed the password for the qualifying and race server at 7pm on race day.
        • Drivers Briefing - All qualifying drivers must attend the drivers briefing on discord at 1pm
        • Qualifying - Qualifying starts at 1.15pm on race day and runs for 10 minutes. Qualifying is mandatory. If you don't qualify you don't race.  
        • Races - Race start is 1:00pm GMT.  The race will be 15 laps

        General Race Rules

      • In order to race you must register 
      • In order to race you must have Ptracker installed correctly
      • In order to race you must Qualify in the top 20
      • In order to race you must be on Discord for drivers Briefing at 8pm

      • Please treat your fellow drivers with respect. don’t cut the track, don't crash into each other and everyone will have an enjoyable race!

        Drivers should be on Discord at least 5 minutes before drivers briefing at 8pm, if you are not on the channel you will not be allowed to race. 

        Communication is key to the smooth running of online race events. If only half the grid have the relevant info, the process simply does not work.


        Contact & Racing Incidents

        Motorsport is a non contact sport. If you make contact with another competitor during the race or qualifying, causing a disadvantage to the other driver you must concede your place within a lap.
        Failure to do so may result in a time penalty up to a maximum of 30 seconds.

        The quantity of contacts by drivers as recorded by STracker during qualifying and the race will be examined by race officials. Repeat offenders will be investigated and penalties up to a race ban or lifetime ban may be applied.

        If you are involved in an accident, do not leave your car parked on the racing line where it can cause interference to other drivers or further accidents.

        If you accidentally leave the track for whatever reason you must wait until there is a clear, safe gap before rejoining the track. Upon joining the track you must get up to speed as quickly as possible without blocking the racing line.

        Any on track incidents or accidents are not for open discussion on the Discord race lobby during the race. Should you have contact with another driver on track please wait until after the event to raise any issues you may have with the VRA  officials. 

        *Please remember some drivers are using powerful direct drive steering wheels and full motion rigs which can cause physical harm if there is an on-track accident. Do not intentionally crash into other drivers, even after the race is over!


        Reporting an Incident

        Race incidents will be assessed based on what is reported. Drivers have 24 hours to report an incident.  Users must email with a brief  description of the incident and what you would like to be looked at. Please include the time and circumstances of the incident and an onboard replay video of the incident where possible.

        Please only report race incidents you are involved in.

        We suggest you save all replays after each race to ensure you have all the required footage.

        Should you be found to be at fault after submitting an incident to be investigated, penalties may be applied to you.

        Pit Exit

        When you leave the pits do not pull onto the racing line. There may be faster cars behind you that you are not aware of, keep off the racing line until it’s clear and safe to do so.

        Track Limits 

        Do not deliberately cut the track. The white (or yellow) lines mark the edge of the road. Do not cross them with more than two wheels. Any driver reported for doing so will be investigated. If found to have gained an advantage or caused another driver a disadvantage  a time penalty up to a maximum of 30 seconds may be applied. The penalty is at the discretion of our officials.


        After the Race 

        After you pass the chequered flag, complete the lap and return to the pits. DO NOT CRASH YOUR CAR OR PARK UP ON THE TRACK. We live broadcast our races and cars piling into each other not only looks terrible, it doesn't give our commentary team enough time to run through the results and relay any critical info for the next race.


        Penalties for breaking the rules are at the discretion of the race officials and include:

        • Warning explaining the rule you broke PLUS time penalty.
        • Time penalty up to a maximum of 30 seconds
        • 1 race ban
        • Championship ban
        • Lifetime Ban


        • Green - Start of race / end of hazard / safe racing conditions
        • Blue - Car is lapped and must give way to faster cars approaching 
        • Yellow - Hazard on or near the track
        • Red - Race Session suspended (Potential Restart)
        • Black - Disqualification and potential penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct
        • Chequered - Session finished / winner 

        Back markers need to pay special attention to blue flags. Anyone causing an incident under a blue flag “which impacts on the results of the race will have any points scored in the race removed and will have to miss the next round of the championship


        Continued use of Foul language or verbal abuse to drivers or admin will not be tolerated and can result in a lifetime ban from VRA.

        Enjoy it!

        This is the most important rule! We want everyone to enjoy racing with us on the VRA servers. The house rules are here in black and white so everyone can see what we expect from drivers both new and old.

        Remember if you wouldn't do it in real life don't do in on the VRA servers.

        Want to Get Involved?

        You will require a PC, Steam Account with Assetto Corsa, Broadband connection, Steering Wheel and pedals and be able to drive fast. You will also need to read and understand the rules and regs and download the cars and tracks.

        There will be setups, pitstops, tyre changes, refueling, damage, penalties.


        Basic requirements are a PC with Assetto Corsa installed, a good internet connection and a graphics card suitable for gaming, a steering wheel and pedals and a suitable seat.

        Unfortunately Games consoles are not supported at the moment. If you have all of the above, please check out the rules and regulations page HERE to get started!
