The concept of the Driver61 Sim Pure Pace MasterClass is simple; follow the 1-month program, then get on the track with a group of fellow students, Driver61 head coach Scott Mansell and his coaching team to learn and perfect your core racing techniques.
The Driver61 coaches and Scott Mansell will deliver instruction and coach you live, so that you can learn, practice and receive feedback on the fundamentals of vision, steering, braking and grip generation / limit manipulation.
The course takes place in iRacing using the MX5 car. The iRacing simulator's physics combined with the MX5 are the perfect platform for understanding weight balance and grip at a speed that leaves mental capacity for internalizing techniques.
The course takes place over 4 weeks that includes instruction delivered via our online learning platform (mobile and web supported) and four on track sessions with Scott Mansell and their team of coaches. During these sessions, you will be paired with an instructor and 4 other students, all being coached on the techniques taught that week, and your overall pace. Scott will also be stopping by to give his feedback on your pace as well.
Sim Rig & Consultation:
As part of the course, Digital Motorsports provide a 1 to 1 sim rig consultation to review your equipment, your settings and your goals to ensure you are getting the most from your current rig.
Our MasterClass takes place over 4 weeks. We are now taking bookings for the course starting the first week of August. Guided training takes place Saturdays & Sundays.
Each week you will receive detailed technique training and drills to run on your simulator.
Then, every Sunday, you join the Driver61 instructors and Scott Mansell on the track for training. You'll be grouped with 4 other students and an instructor who will all be practicing the newly learned techniques and getting up to speed on different tracks.
The course uses the Mazda MX5 car during the MasterClasses and we're often asked why. Even though the MX5 isn't the fastest car, it's perfect for training.
